OUT OF THE "FREY"-ING PAN AND BACK INTO THE FIRE: Disgraced "memoirist" James Frey has picked up his pen again. "It's been awhile. Needed some time away. Back now. Writing a film about the Hells Angels for director Tony Scott. Recently started a new book. Film should be finished sometime this summer, book about a year from now," he writes on his Web site.

'LOST' AND FOUND, SUMMER RERUN EDITION: Maybe Michael really is riding off into the sunset with Walt. Harold Perrineau, who plays Michael, told the Knoxville News Sentinel that he is "no longer under contract with 'Lost' and is free to look for other work." Apparently Season 3 won't involve Michael, but he could return for Season 4. ...

Michelle Rodriguez's stay behind bars was very short-lived. Sentenced to 60 days in the Los Angeles County jail for violating probation terms after her drunken-driving arrest in Hawaii, she was released after just a few hours.

"Our prosecutors are not happy about it, but that is the sad reality of our overcrowded jails," said Contessa Mankiewicz, a spokeswoman for the city attorney's office.

WE REALLY WANT TO SEE THE DEFINITIVE NOT-QUITE-FINAL CUT: There's repackaging, and then there's repackaging. In September, Warner Home Video will re-release a restored and remastered DVD version of Ridley Scott's 1982 sci-fi cult classic "Blade Runner."

For the film's 25th anniversary in 2007, Warner will release "Blade Runner: The Final Cut" -- Scott's "definitive" new version -- in select theaters. Then comes a multi-disc "Special Edition" DVD release, which also will contain three alternate versions: the "Original U.S. Theatrical Cut," the "Expanded International Theatrical Cut" and the "1992 Director's Cut."

IT'LL JUST SEEM LIKE GROUNDHOG DAY TO JACK BAUER: If you can't wait until January for your next fix of "24," Fox is offering you a chance to relive Season 5. For the first time in series history, Fox will air reruns in the summer. Beginning at 8 p.m. June 16, back-to-back episodes will air each Friday for 12 weeks.

UP AND DOWN: Britney Spears is no longer the most-searched celeb on the Internet, according to ZOO, a British men's mag. She's been surpassed by porn star Jenna Jameson.

THE ANSWER IS ... PROBABLY NOT: As Jessica Alba prepared to host the MTV Movie Awards (9 p.m. Thursday), The Associated Press asked her: "Is there any magazine poll of 'sexiest' or 'best girlfriend material' that you haven't topped?"

Alba: "You know, I don't really keep track of that kind of stuff. I'm usually, like, 'Oh, that's nice.' I'm always the last to find those kinds of things out, but I'm really, truly grateful that people show up to the movies that I'm in and tune in to the stuff I'm on."

HE SAID, SHE SAID: "We decided to give her a different point of view. We wanted to make her a more unique personality than others in the Bat-family. That's one of the reasons we went in this direction." -- Dan DiDio, vice president and executive editor at DC Comics, on why Batwoman is coming back in July as a lesbian.
